Half-Life: performance & optimization FAQ
Should I increase Half-Life's Memory size setting?
Keep the launcher's default unless an allocation error or project instruction gives you a reason to change it. More reserved memory is not an FPS boost and may make allocation harder on a constrained device. First confirm that the engine has compatible game data and note the exact error.
What browser checks should I try for Half-Life?
Keep the game tab visible and pause other games or video. If Chrome Energy Saver is active, compare with it off while plugged in; restore it if there is no benefit. Change one thing at a time and repeat the same scene. Export any available save backup before clearing site data or switching browser profiles.
