Which Cookie Clicker options can reduce visual work?

In Options, try disabling Fancy graphics and particle effects. The game's source separates these visual preferences from normal gameplay, and players have reported trying Fancy graphics off for stutter. Compare the same session; these reports are not an FPS benchmark.

Why does Cookie Clicker behave differently in a background tab?

Browsers can limit work in inactive tabs. Keep the tab visible when comparing animation or timing; a background session is not an equivalent performance test. Export your save before moving browsers, and do not rely on experimental browser flags to keep a tab running unrestricted.

What browser checks should I try for Cookie Clicker?

Keep the game tab visible and pause other games or video. If Chrome Energy Saver is active, compare with it off while plugged in; restore it if there is no benefit.
